The creamiest macaroni and cheese

If you're looking for a creamy macaroni and cheese recipe, this is the one for you. By adding sour cream and cottage cheese to basic macaroni and cheese, you create a creamy, cheesy version of your mom's baked macaroni and cheese.


250g macaroni noodles
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
200ml sour cream
1 egg, beaten
250g Bacon bits
1 small tub of cottage cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Creamy Macaroni and Cheese Directions

Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius

Prepare macaroni by following package directions. Drain macaroni noodles and salt and pepper to taste.

In a pan fry bacon bits till cooked but not crispy

In a large mixing bowl, combine cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, egg and salt to taste. Stir well. Gently stir in cooked macaroni and bacon bits.

Lightly grease a 2 quart baking dish. Carefully pour the macaroni and cheese mixture into the baking dish.

Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit for 15-20 minutes before spooning into your plate.

If you dont like the bacon leave it out
